Sacramental Policies

Sacramental Policies of the Archdiocese of Santa Fe

Parish policies:

Charges

There are no charges for any parishioner for the administration of any sacrament at San Clemente Catholic Church.   If a non-parishioner wishes to use our parish facilities there may be a nominal charge for the use of the facility depending upon circumstances.

Confessions

Confessions are normally heard one half-hour before daily Mass, or on Saturdays between 3:30 to 5:30 PM, or by appointment. There are no scheduled Confessions on Sundays, but confessions may be heard if the pastor is available.

Baptism

In order for you to have your child baptized at San Clemente at least one parent of the child must be a registered member of San Clemente parish or you must have the written permission from your own pastor to have your child baptized at San Clemente.  Parents and sponsors must take baptismal preparation classes either at San Clemente or in their home parish if they have not had them within the last two years.  Our Baptism preparation classes consist of two sessions which are normally held after the 5:30 Mass on Saturdays. Please call the parish office, preferably before your baby is born, for the dates of these sessions as well as to make arrangements for the actual Baptism.  Baptisms may be held either at San Clemente or San Antonio de Los Lentes. The Baptism form is available on the home page.

Marriage

Marriage preparation is an important part of planning a wedding, so please contact the parish office at least six months prior to your desired wedding date to check availability of your desired wedding date and time.  The parish will reserve a date and time if it is available but will not not finalize your desired wedding date until the wedding preparation process is complete so please call early.  San Clemente provides personalized and individual marriage preparation for couples but will also accept diocesan approved marriage preparation courses offered other Catholic churches.

Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA)

Anyone who is interested in becoming Catholic, or who may be an adult Catholic who has not completed their sacraments and wishes to do so please call the Religious Education Office (865-9370) and speak to the DRE or Religious Education assistant.

Anointing of the Sick

If you or a loved one is sick and in need of the sacrament of Anointing of the Sick or the Last Rites, please contact the parish office and the parish secretary will help you.  After normal office hours call the parish office and select option 8 from the phone list so that you can contact the pastor directly.
